THE ISSUES

TRANSPORTATION

County transportation issues are overseen by all three county commissioners. Here are a few things that we have accomplished together since I've been in office.

  1. The County recently funded all of the "local match" of federal funds to do a transit study with the Mountainland Association of Governments (MAG), Legislators and the Cities.

  2. The County funded 50% of the cost of a study of Senior Transportation in partnership with MAG.

  3. I attended meetings alongside Darrell Cook, Executive Director of MAG, with four of the seven Transportation Commissioners to present MAG's I-15 pre-reconstruction plan.

  4. Utah County is a full partner with MAG on all transportation issues and pays its full contract amount with MAG.

  5. Utah County added a $10.00 per automobile license plate fee for future "right of way" purchase for expansion of roads in the county.

  6. Utah County is in full partnership with Legislative Leadership in providing for future growth.

FUTURE COMMITMENTs

I commit that:

  1. I will continue to work with the State Legislature, MAG and UDOT to provide adequate transportation funding for Utah County.
